On the piano nobile we can visit Queen Margherita’s room, so named in the inventory of 1890 following the sovereign’s stay at the Royal Castle of Sarre in the summer of 1880. For that occasion the interior of the abode was transformed: various pieces of furniture were sent from the Royal Palace of Turin and the Castle of La Mandria. The present-day layout recalls that period: the textile furnishings were reproduced based on a fragment found on the small armchairs under their most recent coverings, while the furniture corresponds to what was documented at the time. Among the various pictures present in the room, the sketch which Francesco Trevisano produced in 1724 for the canvas in the Church of Saint Hubert at the Palace of Venaria is particularly worthy of note.
