Of the roughly 50 thousand square metres of the park, around 17 thousand are consist of lawn while the rest is a rich mix of woods, rocks and paths. The “English-style” park was planned in the early 20th century by the landscape architect Giuseppe Roda, from Turin, who bedded out the first trees together with the nurseryman Luigi Dominici. Today, among the 150 specimens we can find beeches, Douglas firs, Austrian pines, Norway spruces, Himalayan cedars, ginkgos, lindens, oaks and downy oaks, ashes, horse chestnuts, Norway and sycamore maples, walnuts and cherry trees. Particularly worthy of note are the veteran trees such as the California redwood, 37 metres tall and with a trunk of over two metres in diameter. In spring the park is full of the colours of narcissuses and tulips.
