THE CARUGO COLLECTION

Since 2015 the MAR-Regional Archaeological Museum has even looked towards the Mediterranean! Indeed, the Carugo Collection, set up as if it were a collector’s study in the style of a house-museum, offers the opportunity to admire as many as 200 artefacts of various kinds from the Etruscan world, Ancient Egypt and the Near East. Donated to the MAR by Aurelio Carugo, originally from Challand-Saint-Victor, this collection is the result of passionate research throughout his life and has allowed the theme of collecting, which was the original core idea of the museum, to be more fully developed.
