The Museum describes its educational mission as taking place not only inside the rooms and in the archaeological area underground, but also at the museum-like open-air Roman and early medieval sites of Aosta. It offers experiences, visits and workshops aimed at different target audiences, offering in-depth analysis and insights into specific themes aligned and coherent with the rhythm of Roman times and the special occasions of the period.
A museum which has made accessibility one of its stand-out features, being one of the first places of its kind to be fitted out with texts in braille for the blind and partially sighted, with child-friendly drawers containing copies of artefacts at 1:1 scale to create a truly tactile and sensory experience. An innovative methodological approach, inclusive and hands-on, which likewise describes the numerous activities offered to every type and level of school to complement their regular curriculums.
