Savoia-eclettismo-Art-Nouveau

Eclecticism is a term in art and architecture indicating a style, widespread in Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries, mixing and combining elements and motifs from different movements and styles. Thus, the past offers a selection of forms and techniques to draw upon in order to create pleasant, refined combinations with entirely aesthetic purposes which surprise and amuse the eye. Savoy Castle is, in this sense, a classic example, as in it can be found elements of neo-medieval, Renaissance Revival and Art Nouveau architecture, decoration and furnishings, in refined combinations put together using the most avant-garde technology of the period.
